Oleo pine resin, often simply called pine resin or crude turpentine, is the viscous, yellowish substance exuded by pine trees (and some other conifers) when their bark is wounded. It’s a natural defense mechanism of the tree, sealing the wound and protecting it from insects and fungal infections.
