Sodium Cyanide

Sodium cyanide (NaCN) is a highly toxic inorganic compound that appears as a white crystalline solid or powder. It is highly soluble in water, and its aqueous solutions are strongly alkaline. It has a faint odor of bitter almonds, although not everyone can detect this smell due to a genetic trait, and smelling it is extremely dangerous due to its high toxicity.
